Beagle Field Trials
We hold anywhere from one to four beagle field trials per
year at our running grounds. In the spring of each year, we hold an AKC
Licensed Beagle Field Trial. This is usually towards the end of April.
Throughout the remainder of the year we will hold other beagle gundog field trials
that vary from year to year. Usually, in the fall we hold an AKC Sanctioned
Beagle Field Trial. A local UKC Club, the Full Circle Houndsmen,
usually hold a UKC Licenced Beagle Field Trial at our running grounds. Other
beagle trials, such as derby trials and Association Championship Trials are
held from time to time when we've been selected as the host club.
We've never held a trial where we didn't have an abundance
of rabbits. The club has a good winter-time stocking program. We also put
out feeders in the winter and plant food plots in the spring.
If you've never been to one of our trials, please come. If
you like beagles, good food and friendly people, you're in for a treat. We
welcome everyone. You can come to enter your beagle in the trial, show up
just to watch or drop by to find out what we're all about.
AKC Licensed Beagle Field Trials
These are our club's main events each year. AKC registered
beagles can earn championship points only when competing in an AKC Licensed
Beagle Field Trial. These trials attract our biggest entries (averaging from
100-130 entries) and they also requires the most work from our members to make
them successful. They are also
our largest fundraiser and attracts the greatest number of beaglers. They
typically travel here from several states.
